Fun Fall Activities for Kids 🍂

Looking for some fun fall activities for your kids? I can help!

Fun Fall Activities for Kids

I love summer and not just because we're out of school, but because of how hot it is. When it's hot outside we spend a lot more time outdoors since mommy would much prefer that I'm playing outside rather than in. But when the weather gets cooler it's time to put away the summer shorts and tees and switch them out for longer and warmer clothing.

But just because the weather has gotten cooler doesn't mean that we can't still have fun outdoors, and sometimes indoors. Here are some of my favorite activities you can do with your kids this fall.

Fun Fall Activities for Kids

Go on a Hayride

Fall weather means it's time for some pumpkin spice and everything nice, including hayrides! Hayrides are a great activity to do with friends or family. You can usually find them at local farms or even some pumpkin patches.

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin patches are the perfect place to take pictures and pick out pumpkins for carving. Many of them also have other activities like corn mazes, petting zoos, and more.

Go to a Corn Maze

Corn mazes are another great activity for family and friends. They can be a little challenging, but that's half the fun. Be sure to check out your local corn maze to see if they have any special events going on.

Pick Apples at an Apple Orchard

Apple orchards are a great place to go in the fall. You can pick your own apples, and many of them have other activities like hayrides, corn mazes, and more. And then you take those apples and make some delicious apple pies or applesauce.

Go on a Nature Walk

Take a walk through the woods or your local park and look for all the different colors of leaves. See if you can find any trees that are still green. And don't forget to look up and see all the different types of birds flying around.

Bake Some Fall Treats

Fall is the perfect time to bake some yummy treats. Make some pumpkin bread, apple pie, or even cinnamon rolls. Your whole house will smell amazing, and you'll have some delicious treats to enjoy. This is a great activity to do with your kids on a rainy day.

Make Fall Crafts

There are tons of different fall crafts you can make. From painting leaves to making homemade scarecrows, or even a Halloween wreath, there are so many fun things you can do. This is a great activity to do on a rainy day.

Jump in Leaves

This is one of my favorite things to do in the fall. When the leaves start falling, it's time to go outside and jump in them! You can also rake them up into a pile and then jump in them. Just be sure not to do this on your neighbor's lawn.

Make Caramel Apples

This is a delicious treat that you can make at home. All you need are some apples, caramel, and a little bit of patience. Once you've made them, be sure to share them with your friends.

Bake Fall Treats

There are so many yummy fall treats you can bake. From pumpkin bread to apple pies, there are so many options. This is a great activity to do with your kids on a rainy day.

Have a Bonfire

This is a great activity to do on a cool fall evening. Gather up some wood and build a fire in your backyard. You can then sit around a bonfire with your family and friends and make some s'mores. You can also Tell ghost stories or just talk and roast marshmallows. Just be sure to stay safe and have an adult present.

Carve or Decorate Pumpkins

This is a Halloween tradition that many families enjoy. You can either carve or decorate your pumpkins. If you're carving them, be sure to have an adult help you with the cutting. And if you're decorating them, get creative! There are so many different ways you can decorate a pumpkin.

Make a Scarecrow

Making a scarecrow is a fun activity that the whole family can do together. You can use old clothes and stuff them with hay or other materials. Then put them in your front yard or on your porch to scare away the birds.

Decorate the House or Yard for Halloween!

This is another Halloween tradition. You can either decorate the inside or outside of your house. There are so many different ways to do it. You can buy some Halloween decorations or even make your own. This is a great activity to do with your family and friends.

Go Through a Haunted House (if your kids are old enough)

This activity is perfect for older kids who are looking for a little bit of a thrill. Haunted houses can be a lot of fun, and they're usually pretty cheap to go through. Just be sure to check out the reviews before you go so you know what you're getting into.

Go Trick-or-Treating

And last but not least, trick-or-treating! This is probably my favorite fall activity. I love dressing up in a costume and getting candy. And it's a great way to get some exercise too. So put on your costume, grab your candy bag, and head out for some fun. Just be sure to stay with an adult and only go to houses that you know.

I hope you enjoy these activities! Fall is my favorite time of year, and I hope you have as much fun as I do.
